How much weight I lost.
9 pounds in two weeks.
Why I decided to lose weight
Well, as I entered menopause, I started to gain weight slowly but surely. It was mostly because I happened to have lost energy and I started to slip by eating more and becoming less active.
How I lost the weight.
The way I started to lose weight was first of all, remove all refined carbs and sugar from my diet. I started with much effort still, to exercise at least 5 to 6 times a week. Exercise includes aerobics, yoga and body sculpting. My favorites on DVD are Tony Horton, Karen Voight and Jillian Michaels. When I fall off the wagon, I don't quit but start where I left of. The first thing I do when I wake up is have water with lemon. I eat breakfast whether I'm hungry or not within one hour after I wake up. Then, I do my exercise.
I eat a small snack afterwards, usually protein (cottage cheese and fruit, peanut butter and fruit), and I eat small meals throughout the day and drink lots of water and green tea. I try to eat good fats (turkey, seafood, red meat now and then) and I eat salad for dinner with chicken strips or a veggie dish with some protein. I also try to drink tons of water and take my fiber and supplements. When I hit a plateau, I check what I'm eating and always switch my exercise so my body is constantly challenged.
