Definition: Polyphenols are a group of chemicals found in a variety of plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, berries, tea, wine, nuts and legumes. Polyphenols are thought to be beneficial phytochemicals because diets rich in polyphenols may help prevent cardiovascular disease and some types of cancer.
