Hair Up and Out of the Way

A pony tail will help keep long hair out of the food your child is preparing.

We started the healthy cooking lesson with cleanliness. Kendyl's long hair had to but put back into a ponytail, and she wondered why that was so important. I taught Kendyl that if her hair is in her eyes, she might have trouble seeing what she is doing, or she could get her hands dirty by shoving her hair back out of the way every few minutes. Wearing a ponytail or putting long hair under a hat will also keep hair out of the food.
