This is a great book by an expert on healthy living, Dr. Steven Aldana. What I like most about this book is the fact that everything Dr. Aldana writes is backed up by research. Each chapter has references for several research articles. It is well written, and a pleasure to read. Dr. Aldana not only tells us how to live healthier, but he also teaches us the reasons why we need to make these changes.

Why Our Lifestyle is the Culprit Behind America's Poor Health

The first section of Dr. Aldana's book explains why our typical American lifestyle is not a healthy one. Changes in our diet over the last century along with a more sedentary lifestyle have resulted in more chronic disease. Perhaps our biggest problem is apathy, since many people don't even care about how these changes are affecting our nation's health.

What Good Nutrition and Exercise Will Do

The second section of this book is all about what happens when we change from a poor diet to a healthy diet and how exercise will affect our bodies. Dr. Aldana uses information from several studies to tell us how good foods make us healthy and how exercise will make us feel better physically and mentally.

How To Implement What You Have Learned

The third section of the "The Culprit and the Cure" shows us how to use what we have learned. It includes tools and information on how to really change our diets, and increase our activity. Dr. Aldana helps us to set nutrition goals and tips for getting over the tough spots so we can make real lifestyle changes.

"The Culprit and the Cure" is a pleasure to read and is full of useful information. This book is written with warmth, intelligence, and a touch of humor. It is a great book to add to your health and fitness library.
