Sounds great, however a lot of people don't like the heavy texture and flavor of whole grain products and just won't eat them. Perhaps Sara Lee Foods has one solution with their whole grain white buns.
Sara Lee has successfully used its flour-blend strategy to introduce whole grain into white-style products without sacrificing the taste, texture and appearance that most Americans prefer. Sara Lee has also introduced Made With Whole Grain White Bread, Plain Bagels and Made With Whole Grain Original English Muffins.
This new whole grain white flour formulation blends 25 percent special white whole grain flour with 75 percent regular enriched white flour.
I tried both the made with whole grain white hot dog buns and the made with whole grain white hamburger buns. They were very fresh and soft and looked just like regular white buns. They stayed fresh for several days and retained that white-bread flavor the whole time.
These buns will add whole grains to your diet. If you are having a difficult time switching from white bread to whole grain breads and buns these products make a good first step.
