Guide Review - Convenient Side Dishes Made Healthier With Whole Grains
I had the opportunity to try the Alfredo Pasta and the Sesame Chicken Rice. Both were very easy to prepare on the stove top and both tasted great. These products aren't completely made from whole wheat so they retain a flavor and texture very similar to white pasta products. Serving these side dishes is a good way to introduce your family to foods made from whole grains.
These side dishes are good prepared the way they are, and I thought of a couple of suggestions to make them part of healthy meals:
- Add pieces of cooked cubed chicken to one of the Knorr-Lipton Sides and serve as a one-dish meal.
- Add carrots, peas and onions to one of the pasta sides. Serve with baked fish and a green salad.
- Add slivered almonds to any of the sides, or sesame seeds to the Sesame chicken for great crunch and the added healthy benefits of nuts or seeds.
