To be honest, I wasn't expecting much flavor and I was expecting a virtual lack of nutrition from these tortilla chips.
What I found were baked chips that didn't have the texture of cardboard, in fact, they retained a very nice crispy texture. The flavor was very similar to regular Doritos and after I ate them, I didn't have the usual indigestion that can accompany processed snack foods. My kids, Kendyl and John both appreciated the flavor of these baked chips as well.
Of course, snack food should be about more than flavor. These chips contain corn, and no whole grains, but they do have two grams of fiber per one ounce serving, or about 15 chips. They have a little bit of calcium, a little bit of some B vitamins, and just a little less sugar than the regular chips. The calorie counts are similar, with one ounce of regular Doritos containing 140 calories, and the baked Doritos have 120 calories. While not a health food, these chips aren't bad as an occasional snack, provided you keep to the one serving. If you are prone to finishing a whole 15-ounce bag you are going to consume too many calories and not get enough nutrition.
