Question: What can a ten year old do at home if he or she wants to be a nutritionist?

Answer: The first thing you need to learn is which foods are healthy and which ones aren't. These are some examples of healthy foods you should eat most often:

  • Chicken, Fish, Eggs, Beef
  • Milk and Cheese
  • Fresh vegetables
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Nuts and Whole grain breads
These are unhealthy foods that should only be eaten as treats once in awhile:
  • Potato Chips or french fries
  • Corn dogs
  • Candy
  • Soda pop
  • Tortilla chips
  • Cookies, cake, and ice cream
What you can do at home is to pick out healthy foods that would make good meals and pick out foods that make good snacks. A good meal could include some healthy meat like fish or chicken or beef and a vegetable like green beans or potatoes, plus a salad. A not so good meals would be a greasy hamburger and french fries from a fast food restaurant. A banana is a healthy snack, but potato chips are not.

If you still want to be a nutritionist when you grow up, you will need to go to college to learn more about proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and learn how to teach people to eat healthy foods.
