Harris - Benedict Formula

The Harris - Benedict formula is used to determine how many calories you need each day so it's usually part of the formula found in calorie calculators. It's a good starting place for calorie-counting, but it doesn't work for everyone. If you use an online calorie calculator to determine your daily calorie need, you may need to adjust your caloric intake up or down if the numbers on your scale don't move as quickly as you want. It’s a pretty accurate formula if you ask me, I’ve used it to both successfully lose weight and gain muscle mass.
