Nutritionists and dietitians are trained to help you improve the way you eat. There are some differences between the professions, and a reader asked me what those differences are. Here's my answer: What's the Difference Between a Nutritionist or Dietitian?
Have you been to a dietitian or a nutritionist? Or both? Share your experiences and opinions of the two by leaving a comment.
When you go to see a dietitian or a nutritionist, you may want to ask about his or her qualifications or credentials. Registered dietitians are credentialed through associations such as the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Dietitians of Canada, or the British Dietetic Association. Nutritionists may be credentialed too, but through different organizations. Since "nutritionist" isn't a protected term, anyone can say he or she is a nutritionist without any real qualifications.
