Fears About Food Safety

Monday June 22, 2009
Nestle brand cookie dough has been recalled due to possible E. coli contamination. Over the past couple of years tainted tomatoes, spinach, peanut butter, ground beef and now, cookie dough, have been in the news for making people sick.

It's important to follow food safety practices in your kitchen (or outdoors at the backyard grill). In general, wash your hands, keep cold foods cold, hot foods hot, and always follow cooking instructions. Don't allow raw meat, poultry or fish to come in contact with foods that are ready for the table.

(1) Tracy says:

I voted no here since I buy very few processed foods, as much organic food as I can and I wash foods carefully, esp meat. The last thing I want is for the gov’t to mandate food Irradiation, which is what they would like to do, under the guise of safety. It may kill germs, but it also reduces nutritional value. Please don’t fear your food -wash it and cook it properly.

I just think it’s all a form of terrorism through food….if I understand correctly, it’s all done with the E coli. strain harmful to humans. Might it be Arabs or Muslims? I have no idea, but I truly believe it’s nutritional terrorism; any sneaky way to kill us and not be found out.
