Kellogg Company Announces Recall of Some Peanut Butter Products

Saturday January 17, 2009
The Kellogg Company announced a voluntary recall of certain Austin® and Keebler® branded Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers and select snack-size packs of Famous Amos® Peanut Butter Cookies and Keebler® Soft Batch Homestyle Peanut Butter Cookies due to the possibility of Salmonella contamination. No other products are involved in this recall. For a complete list, read the announcement.

So what types of peanut butter are safe to eat? While jars of peanut butter are probably safe, the FDA says to avoid other products containing peanut butter.
