Many of my patients trying to lose excess weight tell me that a teaspoon of Metamucil in 8 oz of water, drunk just before meals, helps them feel full sooner. So they tend to eat less. For people watching their weight, I recommend the sugar-free version.

Getting moving is also as simple as fitting movement into daily life–park at the furthest spot in the lot always. Make a habit of bopping your leg or fingers to music. Little things count!

Starting the day with oatmeal is an amazing way to get fiber, stay full, and warm ourselves up for the coming winter. Oats help our nervous systems as well. If the texture is something that prevents you from eating oatmeal, try mixing in some nuts or a little bit of granola for added crunch.
