Migraine and Diet

Sunday November 12, 2006
Anyone who suffers from migraine headaches knows just how horrible the pain can be. Migraine headaches can be triggered from a variety of things including the foods we eat. Some foods contain tyramine or histamines, both of which can trigger headaches. Some foods may trigger an allergic-like reaction that can trigger headaches

When I was young, I didn't like to go to the theater to watch movies because I would always come out of the theater with a blazing headache. At the time I thought it was due to the loud soundtracks or the different intensities in the lighting that occurs during a movie. Then I learned about food allergies and realized my headaches were coming from the popcorn I would enjoy during the movies. Once I quit eating popcorn, sweetcorn, corn syrup and basically anything with corn products, the headaches went away.
