High Fiber Foods

Fiber is the part of plants that gives them their structure. Humans can't digest this fiber so when we eat plants, the fiber stays in the digestive tract. A diet with plenty of high fiber foods helps to keep our digestive system healthy and can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. High Fiber Foods

As you mention, high-fiber foods help move waste through the digestive tract faster and easier. So I assume that possibly harmful substances do not have as much contact with the gastrointestinal tract and less is absorbed into the body. If I relate this to your previous article “Are Organic Foods Worth the Cost”; perhaps a diet rich in fiber may assist in reducing the higher amount of pesticides and other chemicals which may result from a diet of non-organic food?
