Can You Take Too Much Vitamin D?

Vitamin D is essential for healthy functioning of the human body. We get most of our vitamin D from sunlight. It is thought that taking large amounts of vitamin D may be beneficial, however we may have to be careful when we take vitamin D. Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin that we can store in our bodies and if we take supplements it is possible to take too much. Our Kidney Disease Guide tells us why Vitamin D may be dangerous.

Fish is a high source of vitamin D. Does this present a problem if you are taking fish oil for the benefit of omega-3 fatty acids?

That doesn’t seem to be a problem with fish oil capsules, however you will get some vitamin D with cod liver oil.
