Are You Getting Enough Calcium?

Calcium is a very important dietary mineral. You probably know that calcium is necessary for strong bones and teeth, but did you know that calcium is also important for healthy muscle function, blood clotting, and proper nerve function? The most well known sources of calcium are dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese, but calcium can be found in other foods like sardines, and dark leafy greens as well. Orange juice that is fortified with calcium is another option. Many of us aren't getting enough calcium, especially teenaged girls, and not getting enough calcium means a higher risk for osteoporosis down the road. Are you getting enough calcium?
