Reading Nutrition Labels

Wednesday November 10, 2004
The food you buy in your local grocery store is required to carry a nutrition label that describes the nutritional information of the food product. These labels are very helpful if you are watching your calories, sodium, fat, or carbohydrate levels. The nutrition labels also help you to know if your foods contain enough vitamins, fiber, and minerals.

About's Pediatrics Guide, Dr. Vince Iannelli, has created a great step by step article that will teach you how to read food labels. Learn what all the different sections of the nutrition labels mean so you can shop wisely at the grocery store.
