Drinking Water

Thursday August 12, 2004
Water is the often over-looked nutrient. Our bodies are over 70% water and we need a daily supply of water and hydrating beverages to keep healthy. This time of year when the weather is hot, water is even more important. We need at least half of our body weight in ounces of water per day.

Not every beverage counts toward that amount. Caffeine and alcohol are diuretics and cause us to lose water through increased urination. Sodas do not count either. For more information on drinking water, read Statistics On Hydration.
